"AGE" SPECIALS.

United Press Association. (m S.S. WAIRARAPA AT THE BLUFF) London, October 14. The Marquis-of Lansdowne has condemned the proposed scheme of Imperial federation with respect to the Bulgarian question. The Russian Government has declared itself to be in favor of reverting to the statu quo. Prince Alexander of Battenberg, however, has adopted a defiant attitude, but Austria is decided as to the line of policy to be pursued. There is little hope now of a peaceful settlement of the difficulty, and bloodshed it is considered will inevitably be the result. October 18. Mr W. E, Gladstone condemns the demand of Greece and Servia for additional territory as untenable. It is reported that Bulgaria is willing to oede Widdin, a fortified town on the river Danube, to Servia, as means of conciliating that State, 19th October. Prince Alexander of Bulgaria has tendered his formal submission to the authority of the Great Powers, and the outlook of the situation has consequently greatly improved, aed a settlement of the difficulty which arose out of the revolution in Roumolia will now probably be arrived at on the basis of a modified unity in Bulgaria and Roumelia, with some trifling concessions to the other provinces.
