FEATHERSTON RACING CLUB MEETING.

A meeting of tho above Club was held on Saturday evening last, Mr W. Nichols in the chair. Present-Messrs Donald, Wilkinson, Hodder, Lucena, McKenzie, and Barton (Secretary). The minutes of t-he previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The report of the deputation re amalgamation with the Lower Valley Club was received, and the offer not accepted, Mr Wilkinson reported that the Stewards had accepted the Tauherenikau racecourse at the rate of £5 per day, The following new members were elecelectedMessrs J. O, Bidwill S Vennell, P, F. Tancted, E, Buclcerklgo! w 4; Hlln »' & Buckeridge, W. Bidwill, D. McDougal, H. Tancred L. Cross, W, Becknell, ft, Kemp, B. Williams, J, Smith, W, Higginson, John Nix, and D. Knight. Much discussion ensued re members not having paid their subscriptions for last year,

The election of officers was then proceeded with and resulted as followers Judge, Mr Wallace Smith j Secretary and Treasurer, Mr R, Barton, Mr Donald gave notice of motion that the Secretary receive Lojper annum, and a percentage on subscriptions, Mr Hodder gave notice to move that members tickets admit a member and two ladies.

The following Stewards were elected w MoDou S a1 ' J " Wilkinson, J 0. Williams, J, T, Hodder, A. Mathews, A. W. Donald, John Tocker. The Secretary was instructed to write to those gentlemen, asking them to act, ani} to convene a meeting for Saturday night next, .
