A letter written by the Hon. Mr Griffiths, Premier of Queensland, to the Governor, Sir Anthony Musgrove, on the subject of the proposed separation of Queensland, is published in the Times this morning. Referring to it, that journal says that the difficulties prove such that the Crown could not at the present time face them by granting separation. London, October 13. The Right Hon. Hugh Childers addressed a meeting »f his constituents at Pontefract last night. Referring to Colonial questions he stated that he hailed with pleasure the approach of federation, and expressed a hope that the forthcoming Indian and Colonial Exhibition would facilitate the discussion of the matter by leading colonists.
