The seventh competipn for Captain Donald's trophy took place at the Solway range, Masterton, last Saturdayafternoon, . and resulted in a win, for the Becond time, for Yol. A. G. Thompson with a score ofti 44 points, his handicap of 5 points added./ Vols. Hoar and Wilton came next with i/ tie of 41 points each, including their handicap of 10 points and 5 points respec« . tively. The weather was unfavorable for good shooting, all the scratch men being out of it. Should Vol. Thompson win it twice again, it becomes his own property, > •/ The ranges were 300,500, and 000 yards.
