At the meeting of the Acclimatisation Sooiety held last night, on the motion of Mr Boetham it was decided to reduce the number of Wairarapa members of the Ooujicjl frqni six to three, and Messrs W, H, Beetham, W, 0, Buchanan, and H. Holmes were elected. It was decided that all rivers in the Wellington district shall be opened on the Ist October, and that live flies and minnow , may be used, Chief Detective Brown,' of Wellington, has been, promoted to. the position of Inspect of Police'.' Detective Neill, of Christchurch, has been promoted to the position .of Chief Detective, to be stationed at Christchurch. ,
