THEATRE ROYAL.
The most successful play that Miss Lawrence and her comedy-drama Company have yet put on the stage in Masterton'was undoubtedly "Lady Audley'B Secret" last night. Miss Lawrence made a most decided hit as the hard and scheming woman who deserts her husband and marries another man for his position, and Who yet carries with her bo smooth a tongue and charming a manner that few who meet her are not captivated. She was as perfect as the suave and coaxing wife as when she shows her hatred to those whom Bhe knows to be her enemies, She was ably supported by Mr Rede as Robert Audley, Mr Dillon as Dalton, and Mr Shiels as the old baronet. Miss Norris, Miss Lena Robinson, and Mr Marter also contributed towards the success of the performance. In conclusion "Sarah's Young Man" was put on, and as on the occasion of its first production, created roars of laughter. There was a fair attendance.
The "Octoroon" will be played tomorrow.
