(BY ELEO'tll'.C TELEGRAPH,—COPYRIGHT Reuter's Telegrams, Melbourne, this day. Messrs Synnot Brothers, wool-brokers of this city, have issued a circular in which a proposal is made to convene a meeting for the purpose of taking steps to promote the exportation of wool from Australia to China and Japan, Mr Daniel Ploos Van Amstel, ConsulGeneral in Australia for the Netherlands, received a telegram this morning from General Van Reese, Governor General of the Dutch East Indies, reporting that Asiatic cholera had broken out at Koelang, in the Island Timor, in the Arafura Sea, and that it had become epidemic in the island.
Pakis, September 20. _ Advices from Admiral Miot commanding the French forces in Malagasy waters state that the troops under his command recently made a reconnaissance of the Hova position at Tarafal, Madagascar, but were attaeked by the enemy and repulsed with considerable loss.
London, September 19. Seven thousand one hundred bales were catalogued at to-day's wool sales, the demand being 'steady, though not active.
Capetown, September 19. The N. Z. Shipping Company's R.M.S. Aorangi left last night for New Zealand. London, September 21. Telegrams to hand from Roumelia state that Prince Alexander jf Bulgaria has issued a manifesto to the inhabitants of Bulgaria and Roumelia,. in which lie accepts the Crown of the two Bulgarias, and calls upon the people to help defend the union. Prince Alexander is now on his way to Phillipopolis, the principal town in Eastern Roumelia.
