LAND BOARD.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Land Board took place yesterday. There were present—Messrs J, W. A, Marchant(Chairman), T. Mason, G. Beetham, M.H.R., Henry Bunny, W. W. McArdle, and W. A, Fitzherbert,

The schedule: of land sold since last meeting of the Board was read and approved,

Mv W, (Men's application to transfer his lease of section 104, Block 11,, Kopuaranga, to Mr Hugh Kelly, was approved.

The Chief Surveyor reported that the portion of the Pahiatua Township Reserve fronting sections 2, 5, and 7 of Blocks I and IV, Makuri, will probably form part of sections which will front the Mangaramarama road. ' It was resolved to deal with the matter when the reserve is cut up, The chairman reported that roads had now been located through sections I to 6, Eketahuna, and recommended that the ranger be requested to appraise the value of the sections in terms of section 164 of the Land Act, 1877, The Manawatu Road Board submitted proposals for the expenditure of L 296 7s, being one-third of paid-up instalments on certain sections in the Kairanga Survey District.

Mv Bunny moved, and Mr Fitzherbert seconded, that the Board be furnished with the approval of the owners of the sections interested. This was carried.

Mr McOardle brought up the question of the sale of the land between Hastwell's clearing and Eketahuna in large sections under lease and deferred payments and it was decided to obtain a report from .-the Chief (surveyor as regards the character of the land, timber, &c,

Mr B eetharn brought up the question of reserving the Kopuaranga village site for a gravel reserve. It was decided that the matter should be left in the hands of the Commissioner. The Board then adjourned.
