THE HUTT TARRING CASE.
(United Press Asiociation.) Wellington, this day. The Hutt tarring case came on again at the R.M. Court this morning. William Dawson, of the firm of Dawson and Co., ironmongers, was examined, but his evidence was unimportant. George Jones, partner of the firm, deposed that during the last month a pair of handcuffs were sold by his firm of which there was an entry in the sales book giving the name of the purchaser. The entry was make by Connal. Witness never saw Mr Waters in the shop, The tar brush (produced) was the same as those in witness' stock, but he could not swear that it was purchased from them. Mr Travers intimated that he intended to submit the tar brush to Mr Skey, Government analyst, for the purpose of removing the tar on the handle to ascertain if there are any private mark on it, The case was adjourned until 2 p.m., when Mr Connal, salesman at Dawsons, is to be examined as to who purchased the handcuffs.
