ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting'was held injhe Board's office on Tuesday last. , Present, Messrs D. C. Macquarie (chairman), Kibbell, Von Reden, Saunders, and Napier. '• Correspondence was received from the' Property Tax Commissioner re remittance of rates on native lands; from Survey Department, stating that plan of district will be ready in a few day's; from County Engineer and County 'Clerk, with plans, &c., for works on Mangaone ' Valley road and deviation on Alfredton district road; from Treasury, advising remittance of £37 10s for expenditure on Mangaone Valley road; from same, advising a remittance of £16210s 6d, deferred payment thirds, for. expenditure on Tawataia and' AlfredtonEketahuna roads; from Property Tax Commissioner, re the native reserve near Eketahuna; from C. F. Gawith, requesting that the property standing in his name be transferred to Samuol Gawith; from Property Tax Commissioner, re demand for rates on native lands; from F. M, Ollivier, re rates; from Colonial Bank, with remittance for rates; from W, 0. Cuff, requesting that C, G. Goode's name be substituted for his own for Alfredton property; from N. C. Jensen, re-transfer of section in Eketahuna to M. and P. Johnson; from A, Anderson, requesting that another two chains of Mangaone branch road be cleared and stumped; from Waste Lands Board, with statement of deferred payment thirds to the credit of the district as at 30th June last; from J. Curtis, re bridges on Mangaone Valley road.
Resolved—Thatthe alteration requested by Mr Gawith be made, as well as all others necessary on the roll. That Mr Anderson's request be acceded to, and that Mr Von Redeti be authorised to have the work done at a cost not to exceed £3. That Mr Curtis be informed that the Board can take no action in the matter in the meantime. That tenders be called for 8,42 chains formation on Mangaone Valley road, and 13 chains formation on Alfredtpn district road deviation, tenders to close at next meeting,
. General satisfaction was expressed by the members with Mr Alpass' conduct in granting the right 0 f road for this deviation.
Resolved, to make a general rate ftf |(j in the £ on all ratably property within the district, for the year commencing on Ist April 1885 and ending on 31st March 1886, payable in one sum on the Ist October next, _ That Messrs Kebbell and Von Reden sign cheques. That Mesßi'3-Jiebbel 1 and the chairman sign fate books. That the next meeting be held on the third Tuesday in September. Accounts to the amount of £ll7 4s were passed for payment. The following jjenclers were received for felling and stumping 50 chains of the Tawataia road A Chisholm and Krofcher, 24 s lOd per chain; (Accepted) A.. McPludaon and Waterson, 25s per chain; T. H. York, 26s 6d per chain ; Konuedy and Norton, 275; Smith and Vork 28s.
