MASONIC.

The installation of W.M. and investiture pf officers of St. John's Lodge, 1888, E.G., took place in the Masonic Hall, Featherston, yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a large number of brethren from,various parts of the district, among whom were Bro W. Sellar, W.M., and officers of the Masterfr m Lodge, 1430 E. C., Bro E, Gray, W.M,, and officers" of Greytown Lodge 1720 E.G., Bro H. McMaster, W".M;i and yf St, Murks 2059 E.G., Carterton, Bro L, J. JjuQpor, R, W.M., of Thistle Lodge, 047 8'.0., jiajjterton, and 'other visitors, Bro H, iJ, WIUiifPM,. District Grand Officer, performed the ceremony in a very impressive manner, and installed Brp J ; D, Oakly as W.M. for the ensuing term, and invested the following brethren'with' their -respective insignias of office, viz,, Bros G. Reynold, S;W,; A, Donald, J.W.; W, Beuton, Treasurer; C. McShane, Secretary; F, 0. Smith, S.D.; J, G. Mackay j.D.; G, Ross, J.G.; O. W, Keys, Tyler, A banquet was subsequently held to | celebrate the event, in the Royal Hotel, host Bro Isen providing a repast that has not been equalled, in this district, The room was tastefully deoorated with Magonio emblems, and also with ferns', evergreens, and flowers. The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honored, interspersed with musical selections, song#,' duets, dto;, and'the jisitots returned home at an early hour, favorably impressed 1 with, the reception given by St. John's' Lodge.; ':
