The Bill raising the age up to which young females are protected to sixteen years, was passed lastnight in the House of Commons. Sydney, August & A case of smallpox has been discovered on board the Messageries Maritimes s,s, Oceanien. The vessel arrived in Port Jackson twelve days ago, and the medical authorities are informed that the eruption was visible on the third day after, the vessel's arrival.
