LAND BOARD.

(Evening Press,) The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held yeaterr day morning. Present—Messrs Marchant, Commissioner (Chairman), Bunny, Beetham, Mason, and McCardle. The Pahiatua Road Board submitted certain proposals for the expenditure of the Deferred-payment' Thirds and the Perpetual Lease Fourths, onloads in the Pabiijtua! ' ' ' - Mr P. Nasi}, qf Sjectjon 38, Block XIII., Poljangina, applied to jp allowed to transfer his section to Mr James W'hittaker,—Approved. ' A memo was read from tlje Under: Secretary of Crown Lands, stating that it is not not intended to increase the survey staff at present for the Wellington Land District, Mr B. Budden, selector of Leasehold Section 115, Block XIV., Mangaone, applied to transfer the section to his wife. It was resolved to obtain further information before granting the request. Mr J. H. Barr applied to capitalise the unpaid instalments on Section 310, Block 111., Oroua; and Mr J. S. Manfieldmade a similar flpplicntjpn for Section 1613, Blook IX., Kairan'ga,—Approved. A memo was read froni the UnderSecretary of Lands, with reference to planting the'coast lands to prevent the drifting of the sand hills, suggesting that the matter should Stand over pending the fate of the Forests Bil now before Parliament. Agreed to. The Commissioner was instructed to bring down proposals with regard to the approval Q*^ert^n-blocks : of|an4 jq Up Wainuwru being constituted mider pastoral leases, : Mr.McCa,rdle brought' under the notice of the Board proposals providing, for the borrowing of money for the purpose of opening up Crown Lands by roads. After a short discussion it was resolved to 'defer the further consideration of the matter till Mr McCardle had furnished the necessary particulars in writing. Mr. Beetham gave notice of motion that he would move at the next meeting

of the Board—That subject to certain restrictions to provide for satisfactory settlement, the 'Board approves of an endowment being granted to the Wellington Harbor Board, The Board then adjourned.
