BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the North Wairarapa Benevolent. Society was held at 4 p,m. yesterday. Present-Mr M,Caselberg (Mayor) in the chair, -Miss/Mird, Revs W. E. Paige, D. Pulton, and J. N. Buttle, Messrs R. The Rev J. N, Buttle reported the case of a widow who lived with a family in the town, and had nothing to maintain her. There was money due to her, but she was, unable to get it in. It was resolved that the Secretary be instructed to see to'the matter, and afford relief, if necessary. Mr Brown brought under notice the case of a woman whose husband had got into prison, and who had no means to support herself and her child: it was resolved that 108 per week be allowed till the next monthly meeting.
