London, July 9 Sir Michael Hicks Beach informed the House that out of the extraordinary vote of £11,000,000, £10,000,000 has already been expended.

The University College of Aberystwith, Wales, has been completely destroyed by fire.

London, July 10. The floating of the Melbourne Harbor Trust Loan lias been postponed until 1880.

The Federation Enabling Bill will be considered in committee on the 16th, and probably passed through without debate. The Opposition are likely to oppose the Budget. In the House of Commons to-night the Colonial Federation Enabling Bill was read for the second time.

Three per cent Consols, 98|. The market rate of discount is f, and the bank rate 2 per cent. Wool—The present series of colonial wool auctions will close to-morrow. Tho market to-day was sluggish. Since the commencement of the series 250,000 bales have been sold; 70,000 bales are held over for the next sales. Greasy and scoured wools realised {d to Id lower than last sales. Fine qualities crossbred generally were l-|d lower; lower qualities were Id lower.

Sydney, July 10. It is announced that the Government will shortly call for tenders m London for a loan of L 5,500,000, hearing interest at the rate of 3| per cent.
