(Per Hauroto at Wellington.) London, June 30. Mr Childers, late Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been granted a pension of £2,000 a year. The Canadian 4 per cent, loan for five milllion pounds was successfully floated yesterday at an average of £lOl 2s Gd. The minimum was fixed at £99. July 1. The Russian troops on the Afghan frontier are constructing a bridge across the Murghab river to Penjdeh. Reinforcements have also arrived at Sarakhs, The Persians are fortifying their frontier on the Herirut river along the route of the Russian advance. A cannon foundry has been started in Herat.
