The monthly meeting of the Board was hold on Saturday. Present—Messrs Beetliain, (Chairman) Dagg, Meredith, Chamberlaiu and Gundersen.

From settlers in Terawhite 'authorising paymontto.W, Wardell'for'work done under the Roads and Bridges Construction 'Act. ■ ■■' '■ ' The follswing resolutions were 1 passed : That the proposal by Mr R. Meredith

on behalf of the trustees of the Wairongo property, marked A, of 11th of April, 1885, for £2lO, be accepted, subject to a doviation extending about two chains up Btream at the crossing of the Wairongo, with right to remove the existing bridge to intending site; the trustees of Wairongo and E. Meredith sen., to give conveyance of the land for the road upon application by the solicitor to the Board. That the water be maintained in the course adopted by the late Engineer, and recommended by the Overseer till _ such time as timber is delivered for making a culvert adapted for conveying the water across to the creek, and that Mr Moore be warned not to interfere with the road,

and that tho Board will hold hini responsible, for any damage to the roajftL resulting from such interference, and ilfflß •Mr McKenzie be instructed to give effecSV to the work as speedily as possible, and to avail himself of assistance in timbei' from Mr Moore.' 1 That the Overseer be authorised to give assistance to the County Engineer, provided it does not interfere with his

duties to the Board. That the Castlepoint Board's application for a sum of £2O towards Blairlogie road be not granted. That certain repairs be made on the roads leading to (jriffins 1 , Manaia, and to the bridge at the upper Waipoua. That the payment to Mr W. Wardell be held over for the Overseer's report. The following tenders were dealt with for the restoration and extension of the' Miki Mild bridge Joseph Dawson, concrete, £262, timber, £252; A, McLeod, concrete, £29419s 6d, timber, £277 15s 6d; T. P, Girdwood, concrete, £335 10s, timber, £347. The tender of Mr Dawson for £262 in concrete was accepted,' conditional on the poll being carried to authorise tho loan.

A deputation consisting of Messrs Campbell, Welch, and Herbert waited upon the Board to ascertain to what extent the Board would assist the settlers in protecting their properties from inundations by the Waipoua river; > The Board decided that at present they could not promise assistance, but the Clerk was authorised to get the opinion

of the Board's Solicitor as to whether it was legal to turn the river back into its original channel. Accounts amounting to JS2GI 14s were passed for payment.
