The diver lias completed the examination of the lonic. He reports that there is not a scratch on tlie vessel's bottom. It is surmised that the vessel must have struck something very soft, probably a sandbank.
Palmerston North, this day. The Native Land Court yesterday awarded the Crown 42,000 acres of the celebrated Mangatainoke block in the Forty Mile Bush. • The whole block is 60,000 acres, and the 42,000 acres awarded represent individual shares which the Government has bought. The block has been under negotiation since 1872,
