ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the above Board was held on Tuesday the 9th inst. PresentMessrs Kebble, Napier, Yon Reden, and Jones, In the absence of the Chairman Mr Kebble occupied the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting " were read and confirmed, ;

The- following correspondence was read:—

From Provincial District Aiiditor, with balance sheet examined anij passefj, from S. J.' R'Ajps, deolinfng to H]]ow a fleviation oh District road. from Alexander Anderson, agreeing to accept tha available amount for formation of Mangaonoßranch Road, From Masterton'Borough Council, re contribution towards clearing of Mangao.ne Valley road.'

From John Wiiyate applying for a sum of money to dear the Castle Hill track,—lt was resolved that the application be favorably entertained when the season is more advanced, in the meantime a small sum be granted to make the track passable. From John Norling applying for assistance in making a road to his section in the Mangaone,—Resolved that assistance be given when funds will admit, Charles Finnal's tender for falling and clearing contract on Mangaone Valley Road was accepted, (ihe work to be superintended by Mr Von Reden, as well as the work on A. Anderson's contract, Resolved that the Waste Lands Board be asked to approve of the expenditure of £BO deferred payment thirds in falling bush, and clearing on Tawataia'Road, and the present available balance uncier this fluid iii metalling on the EketahunaAlfadtqn Road, Resolyed that immediate legal steps he taken for the recovery of all rates in jjrrear, and' the collector was ducted accordingly.
