WAIRARAPA AND EAST COAST PASTORAL & AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the above was held at the Council Chambers, Carterton, on Saturday. Present—Messrs W. Booth, H. McMaster, N. Grace. B. Boys, A. Anderson, B. Kimberley, J. Reynolds, and R. R. Armstrong, The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Mr Reynolds moved and Mr Anderson seconded, That tho annual show be held on the 4th of November.—Carried. Mr Boys moved and Mr Grace seconded That the annual show shall include cnttlo, horses, sheep, pigs, dairy produce, and implements; industrial exhibits be admitted as regular classes thereat Carried.
The following show committee was appointed to cany out the arrangements for the said show :-The President, VicePresident, Treasurer, and Messrs A. Anderssn, R, R. Armstrong, W. E. Bidwill, N. Grace, H, Braithwaite, B. Kimberloy, A. Matthews, H, McMaster, J. Reynolds, J. Stuckey, J. C. Vallance, J. Donald, B, Boys, E, W. Dorset, H. H. Beetham, and J, P. Russell. Mr R. R, Armstrong proposed, and Mr Grace seconded, That the horse parade be held on Saturday the 3rd of October next.—Carried. Resolved—That a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs R, R, Armstrong, N. Grace, B. Kimberley, E, W. Dorset, and H. McMaster be appointed to carry out all arrangements respecting the horse parade, and that Mr R, R, Armstrong be the convener of the committee; such committee to have full power of arrangement as to gate tariff, &c—Carried, That a second show, comprising the exhibition of flowers, dogs, produce, implements, industrial exhibits, poultry, etc., be held early in December, the exact date to be left to the Committee, and that the following sub-committee be appointed to carry out the arrangements for the same:—Messrs W, H. Beetham, B. Boys, J, Payton, H Braithwaite, A. Booth, T. Price, P. W. R. Seed, W. G, King, A, Elkins, R. R. Armstrong, E. W. Dorset, J. D, Oakley, W. Parker, Mr Boys to be the convener of tin Committee, It was reported that over £SOO had been subscribed towards liquidating the mortgage and debentures now existing on the Society's property, and it was considered probable that the Society would shortly be freed from debt. One member stated that he had obtained 20 now members, and thought that an additional 50 could be obtained in the CartertonTaratalu district alone,
