WAIRARAPA JOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Jockey Club was held on Saturday last at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton, Mr B, Boys presiding, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed,

It was resolved—That the Balance Sheet and Stewards'Eeport for 1884-5, as published and circulated, bo passed. That a vote of thanks be passed to Mr B. Kimberley and the subscribers for tho subscriptions received on account of the new race course.

That the report of the Race Course Committee be adopted, and a competent caretaker be appointed. That the Champagne Stakes for 2-year-olds be£l6o, divided as last season; weights, Bst 71bs for fillies and geldings; colts, Bst lOlbs. Nominations to close 4th July. That the District Produce Raco he discontinued.

The following officers were elected:— Vice-President, Mr H. S. Wardell; Judgo, Mr Wallace Smith; Starter, Mr J. Drummond; Stewards, Messrs N. Grace, B. Kimberley, H, McMaster, A Matthews, E. W. Dorset, J. McMaster, C. J. Tully; Clerk of the Scales, Mr N. Grace; Clerk of the Course, MrW, lorns; Timekeeper, Mr W. Armstrong; Auditors, Messrs B. Boys and N, Grace. Resolved.—That a spring meeting be held on tho 9th November (Prince of Wales Birthday), if the Tauherenikau Race Course can be obtained.—The Stewards to frame the programme. That the Secretary communicate with the nominators for the Sires' Produce Stakes 1886, and ascertain if they are willing to have the raco run at the Spring Meeting, if one i's'heia. ' : That the handicapping be left to the Stewards, or whom they may appoint. That the disqualification of Marmionbe endorsed; and that on Pathfinder be romoyed, and that tlje suspension of Alex Keir be likewise, endorsed, in accordance with tl}e memorandum received from the Dunedm Jockey Club, That Messrs N. Grace, R, R. Armstrong J, 0. Vallance, and P, F.'Tancred be appointed to revise the rules' of the club, and submit to'a general'meeting for approval. That a chronograph watch be presented to Mr N, Grace, in recognition of the services rendered during the many years he has acted as steward, This resolution was passed with aoclamation, all present testifying to Mr Grace's untiring zeal. A qommittee w appointed to purchase tho watch, have a suitable inscription placed thereon, and present it at the next genoral meeting of members, A vote of thanks to the 'Chairman terminated the meeting,
