GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Greytown Borough Council was held in the Council Chambers'on Monday night, Present.-His Worship the Mayor, Ore. Loasby, Maxton, St, George, Jones', Cameron, and Trotter. "'"''' The minutes of (he previous moeting were read and confirmed, A letter was read from Cr Beard, resigning his seat in the Council. It was rosolvedj on the motion of Cr Loasby seconded"by Cr Trotter,' that the resignation of Cr Beard be accepted. " : The rqporfc of the Works Committee was adopted on the motion of Or St. George, seconded by Cr Jones. The Ranger's report wa? read and adopted. ' ' Or St. George moved am) Or Maxton reconded "that the qverseer'have the use of the piece of land where "the immigration gottages were removed from, on condition that he fences it in. Or Cameron moved as an amendment, Cr Jones seconding, "that a notice be put up offering to let it far a term of five years, and that an eighth of the land be allowed the Overseer, After a long discussion the amendment was carried, Or Cameron moved, Or Loasby seoon. .ded pro forma, "That the owners of slaughter houses within the Borough be made pay the usual fee of 40s per annum. Carried, , Cr Loasby moved, and Cr Maxton seconded, "That notice be given to owners of slaughter houses in the Borough that the by-law in reference to slaughter houses would in future be carried out, Carried. .
