MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Vogcl's telegram thatihe-Council would be in' fayor of adopting the Rating Act, 1882, provided they have the power to appoint their own valuer, as at present, and that the ratine; power is increased to Id in the pound on the fee simple, value. Also, to suggest that if the Government propose introducing a new Municipal Corporations Act, copies of the Bill should be forwarded to Municipalities for their opinion and suggestions.
