PAHIATUA ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Board was held on the 2nd May. Present: Messrs MeCardte (in the chair), Davie, Hall, Crowe, Avery, andSedcole. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmod. Correspondence, inwards.—From Mr Florence, solicitor, re Giles' No. 4 contract, Tiraumea Road. From Mr Bock, applying for situation of Clerk to the Board. Resolved, that Mr Bock be written to, stating that the Board had no intention to change their Clerk at present. Resolved, that Mr Florence bo repliod to, to the effect that if Mr Giles completes' ■his contract, the Board will pay him. Resolved that the Board have its own valuation, and that the Clerk be appointed valuator, ' Resolved, that Mr McCardle obtain an opinion re electoral roll on hia- next visit to Masterton. The roll and plans re special area ror loan under Roads and Bridges Construction Act being all ready, it was resolved that the Clerk obtain the necessary signatures to the same. Resolved, that the statutory notice be given that the Board at next meeting intend to strike a general rate of id in the £. 2 . Resolved, that the Clerk forward a statement of proposed expenditure of deferred thirds throughout tho district, and apply for money now due. Resolved, that £5 be spent, under the supervision of the Board's Overseer, ort the track running along the ToriteaPuketoi road line, towards the river. Resolved, that tenders be called for tho formation of three-quarters of a mile of Maungaramarama road from the end of Township road towards Rose & Smitli's section.

Resolved,- that Messrs McCardle, Crewe, and Sedcole interview Mr Frasi, with power to arrange'''for tho completion of the survey of the Toritea road. Resolved, that the works on Tiraumea road be suspended for a'short tune in consequence of unsettled weather.
