FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.
The monthly-meeting of the Town Board was held fin Monday evening, at the Board's offices, Featherston. PresentMessrs G. Reynolds (chairman), Donald, Brunskill, Cundy and Hodder. . The minutes of the previous' meeting were read.and confirmed, and the Treasurer's statemont was presented, showing a balance of £45 8s 2d, :.
' The following accountsjwere; passed for ' payment—Campion, £5; Beel, £3l9s 3d; Riddick, £4 12s; Printing, £4 0s 6d; ■Bloxham, £6lßs; Clerk,.£4lßsl6;total £2Blßs6d.:' Dog Registrar's feds, £1 IBs 6d; Ranger Fees, Us;' Poundkeeper'B Fees, £2 3s 6d. .Correspondence was read from the Ranger asking- the. Board to duties, and asking for instructions. > ■ A discussion ensued upon the subject, the general impression being that it whsrather unjust to. surtimons.for trespass and take the pound fees as well, and the conclusion come to by the Board was that if the ratepayers did not assist the Board by' Keeping their cattlo paddocked between five in the evening and seven in the morning, the privilege now allowed them of grazing through tho day would be withdrawn.
The balance-sheet for the year, ending March 31st 1885, showed: Receipts, £472 7s lOd; expenditure, £432 9s 2d; balance, £39lßsßd.
