■ The usual monthly meeting of the Masterton Town Lands -Trustees was "held, .yesterday evening,' The declaration of the recent election was read, and Messrs Parsons, Feist, and Gapper thereupon took , their seats. There wero also present Messrs Perry and Muir. Mr Gapper was appointed Chairman pro tem. ...
The Secretary reported that it was usual for the lowest 011 the poll to go out next year, and it was agreed that this course should be taken next year, The minutes and Treasurer's reportwere read and, adopted. ' A letter was received from Mr Marchant re the errors in Crown grants at the Kurupuni boundary of the town, pointing out that Section 104 had been vested in the Education Commissioner, and asking for a tracing of the road proposed in lieu of the old one. It was decided to allow the matter to stand over till Mr flare's return. The recent offers of freehold property were considered. It was resolved that tho presont offers of land be declined as unsuitable. Mr Gapper moved and Mr Perry seconded that Messrs Feist Muir. and Parsons be a standing committee to look for a suitable investment. Re the application of the Masterton Park Trustees for an increased grant, and provision to meet debentures when they become due, Mr Muir moved and Mr Perry seconded, That tin's Trust does not at present see its way to provide for the Park debentures, but will increase the yearly grant from £25 to £35. ' • Mr Feist moved as an amendment, and Mr Gapper seconded, pro forma, That the application of the Park Trustees for £32 per annum be granted, and that a further sum of £24 bo granted to provide for the shares in the Building Society held by the Park Trustees. ' The amendment was lost, the mover only voting for.it. Mr Parsons moved, as a further amendment and Mr Muir seconded pro forma, That the grant be £4O per annum. That amendment was lost, and the original motion carried. Mr Feist moved, and Mr Parsons seconded, That the appointment of Cliairinanfor the ensuing year be. postponed till the ensuing nicetiug.—Carried. The consideration of Mr Caselberg's application to .surrender his leases and take up new ones was on the motion of Mr Feist, seconded by Mr Perry, declined. The Secretary was instructed to, get copies of the Trust Acts for the use of Trustees,
