CASTEL POINT ROAD BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of tljo Board was held on Saturday last. Present,—Messrs Mackay, (Chairman), Meredith, Warren, and Langdon. The minutes of the previous meetingwere readand confirmed. The Treasurer reported a balance for future, Expenditure of £516. The action of the members present in passing accounts amounting to #t? 7s 5d on % 7th inst', was read and confirmed, The overseers report was read and considered.
Correspondence was read from Mr flandy'side applying for leave of absense, which-was granted; from Mr Badger, with the Laws of New Zealand; from 0. K, Miller applying to have tho road in front of his house formed; frem Mr
Elder applying, for repairs, to Uriti road; from County Clerk re timber lent, and stating that the Council would dispose of the timber on the Taueru road at a price to be fixed by the engineer. The tender of Mr W. Grainger for a cutting on the Akifcio road was accepted at £l3O 5a subject to approval by the member for No. 7 subdivision. Resolved—That Mr Perry's salary be increased from £l3O to 150 from the time he has been in charge of the main roads. That the culvert near Mr Elders woolshed be repaired, and that the repairs be deferred on the Uriti road until the timber is procured. That the. Council be requested to have the timber on the Taueru road™alued as soon as possible; and that the overseerbe' requested to furnish a memorandum showing the particular locality where the timber was used that was lent for repairs on tho main roads. That the Treasurer be directed to apply for a aettlomont of accounts with the Council. That the.Overseer be directed to form and repair the road from Mr Miller's gate to the culvert near his house. That Mr J Henderson bo allowed an. extension of time, until next meeting, to finish his contract in front of the Tinui Hotel. The following notices of motion werelaid on the table: Mr Maokay, to move that the Board, at its next meeting decide in what proportion the Crown rate due' for tho current year be allocated between the several sub-divisions. Mr Meredith, to move in tho absence of the member for No. 7 sub-division, that at next meeting a sum of £BS be granted for expenditure on the Akiteo river road. The next meeting was fixed for Saturday the 4th April,
