WASTE LANDS BOARD.
(Prom the Evening Press.) The ordinary meeting of thq above was held yesterday mtvning. Present—Messrs Marchant (in tlio chair), H, Bunny, W, Fitzherbert, W, W, McOardlo, and J. Mason. The Chairman reported that no land had been sold since last meeting of the Board. '''' ' ■ ■ - An application from Mr AUison to foil b.yah on Crop Land was refused. Mr'J. Hessoy's wptjoji to forfeited because ho refused to sign the lease. Correspondence from the Manawatu Tjnieij and Standard relative to their advertising sbwgefi vk mi. The Board agroed tfl adliere to their original motion, npt to apcede to t!|o account as rendered, It lyas resolved to grant the expenditure of £B7 on roads in Ornua, Tlio Commissioner, and Messrs Uunny and Fitzherbert were appointed a committee to valuo all the special settlement blocks. The question was discussed of withdrawing from sale certain unsold sections hi the l.qkomaril Block, owing to the reported discovery of gold, snfl it fas resolved that as the gqld discqyery \ya§ qnly a myth, the sections should again be' cjpon for sale. On the motion of Mr Bunny it was resolved that the Government bo requested to furnish the Board with a list of the names of the settlers forming Special Settlement Associations, and that a copy Jjo sent fco each member of the Board. informed the Board that the Sfiniqfcei* QrlaiidiT.did npj, cqnpp in the diyersipfl of pqrtign pf yptg&ffjr thp Karewnrero and Paratuke roafls for opening up the Tokomarjj Biflck. The Chairman also lnformed the Board that the Minister of Lands does not con. cur in the diversion of £I2OO alloted to the Tiraumea Valley road to open up sections in Pahiatua and Mangaono. ■ The Board then adjourned,
