March 2nd, when the following members were present Messrs It, S, Hawkins (Chairman), C, E, C, Hood, and John Rutherford, The minutes of the previous meoting were read and confirmed. The Chairman stated that 110 had received from the Clerk of the Masterton Road.Board a draft award of the County Council as to the settlement of accounts under the'Boad Boards Act, 1882, audit wasdeouled that {lie to abide by the award be sealed'when' gighed by the 6)jitjmmri flf the Cpunjty' OQuhcil. The ChairnjaiH'epprteid having inspected the Wajrjri poad, and laid before the Board a list of works required to make the road passable at the Bideford end, Mr Rutherford promised to supply and pack at his own cost, timber for culverts, if the Board would split and mako same. It was resolved that Mr Thomas Periy (contractor) be requested to give a price for the work, and that the sum of £4 be passed for the same. Resolved.—That Mr Hood be authorised tq clear the track of titree between tlje'oud qf the majnpul and the commencement of tl)'o )}e\y putting 9!) Rood's line, pd that the sipn flf Ije granted for tho same, That Mr McKay be instructed to remove the slip bars from aoroas the Wairiri road, between his property and Glen Donald, and erect a swing gate in their place, not less than 10ft wide. That the attention of the County Council be called to'the fact that the contractor had not proceeded with thp formation of the Taueru road, let at the last meeting of the Council, and that the Council l)'e requested to insist on his immediately prtijig t^same, Tho Board then sjouroesTtjll the first Monday in April at il a,m.
