Messrs McLaohlan and McKay attended in reference to the improvement of the road leading through their property, and stated they would bo willing to pay a sliaro of tho cost, The Overseer was instructed to expend £8 on tho road, provided the_ applicants contributed an equal amount in labor or money. Messrs Woodrcofe, Smith, Yule and others presented a petition asking to have their properties taken out of the Borough and merged in the Road Board. • Tho petitioners were informed that the Board would take the matter into consideration at its next meeting. It was resolved that the overseer be instructed to expend £6 ill making a dray road from Griffins property to the Upper Plain road junction. ■ That Mr Owen Meredith be informed that the Board will extend the timo of finishing his contract and that the board effect to get the road matter settled on which his contract is, at an early date. Accounts amounting to £520 were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
