WAR IN THE SOUDAN.
BY ELECTRIC TEMORAPII—COPYRIGHT, (reuter's TELEGRAMS.) London, February 8. It is stated that the Government intend to dispatch reinforcements to the number of 8000 to the Soudan, under the command of Major-General Newdigate, and that the force will proceed to Somjkin and thence to Berber. Lord Wolseley telegraphs thafyiothing is known as to the fate of General Gordon and that, as regards Sir Charles Wilson and party, he believes they have been rescued from the island near the Shabukli Cataract.
■ It is reported that the Cabinot have instructed Lord Wolaeley that, in the ovent of General Gordon being dead, the campaign is to bo continued untill the rebellion is quelled, It has transpired that the Earl of Granville has informed Fehini Pasha, the Egyption Finance Minister, now in London that England intends to cvacute Egypt, but that it is impossible at the present time to fix a date for the withdrawal of the troops,
