The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday at the Council Chambers, Qar|;esgri. The Treasurer's report and the balance sheet up to 21st of January, 1885 were read. No. lWard. From PublicWorksDepartment informing the Board that £1657 for work under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act was now granted. An. application was read from R. Reynolds and A, Jensen asking for permission to erect a gate across Kaukatau road,
Resolved—That permission be granted for twelve months. '
It was moved by H. Braithwaite and seconded by Mr N. Grace, That Mr B. Boys be authorised to sign debentures for money borrowed under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act. ' The following tenders were accepted : Oliver and Maunsell's line—Section 1, W. Cadwallader, £ll2s 6d; Section 2, £1 15s; Section 3, £ll7s 6d; Section 4, £1 12s 6d. Waterson Line formation—No 1 Section, J. H, Jenkins, £2 5s Gd per chain; No, 3, James Phelps, 355; Ifo, 4, J. Gorman, 34s por ohain, It was resolved, That fresh tenders be called for Section No, 2, to clojc next Board meeting. The following accounts were passed for payment;—Udy and Gallon, £G ]s 7d; A. Jensen, £SO; J. Durrock, £4 7s 6d; J. Gorman, £2 7s Id ; Miss Exo, £1; John Hart, £l7g 74 ih- McKenzie, £1 13s Gd; W. Booth & Oo.j £3 13s fid; A. McCornuck, £l6 16s; Wairarapa West County Council, £3s.—Total £122 5s 9d. It was resolved that the Chairman be authorised to arrange for necessary overdrafts at the bank of New Zealand.

It waa resolved that this Board approves of proposed by-laws re width of tires and join with the Wairarapa West County Council in passing the same, Moved.by Mr Parker, seconded by Mr Booth, that tenders be called for bush felling along Park Road at a cost of about £lB, half of which is offered to be contributed by Messrs Cafct & Carter. •' - Mr Dorset moved as an amendment,
seconded by Mr Reynolds that the bush question bo deferred sine die. Both woro withdrawn.
In referenco to the application made by the Masterton Road Board for half share of cost of the proposed Te Whiti punt, it was resolved that the Board was not propared to join in the undertaking. After some discussion on the state of of France's line it was resolved that Mr L. Nix be ratten to asking him on what terms lie would boII 1 acre or 1 acre of his land for a gravel pit, The meeting then adjourned.
