William Neary and Joseph Neai'y wero charged by constables Darby- and JEcclcton with fighting- and creating a general disturbance on the Taratahi racecourse on tho 22nd insfc. Defendants both pleaded •not-guilty. -The-evidence of the con'sta'ble*s sliowed that the defendant Joseph 'Neary was fighting, and challenging people to fight continuously through the ■day; 'a'ffdlllat; he and his brother were creating a disturbance among themselves, to the annoyance.of the public. The Gom-t, inflicted a fine of 40s and costs on defendant Joseph Neary. and 10s and costs'on defendant William Neary.

H. Taylor v Thomas Dew—lnterpleader by William Robinson, £3O. Some cattle were seized under distress and replevied by the claimant.- Mr Sandilands for the claimant, Mr ■ Gray for the judgment creditor. It was-proved by the claimaut that in May last he had, in coming to a settlement of accounts with defendant, taken the cattle in payment for some fencing. Judgment was entered, for the claimant with costs,'. 345. ■.
