TOWN LANDS TRUST.
The ordinary meeting of the-Masterton Town Lands Trust took place at the Council Chambers last night, Present —Messrs Hare (chairman),, Gapper Feist, and Muir.
The minutes of the proceeding meeting were read and confirmed, and the Treasurer's report showing a credit balance of £5 2s 2d. An account from Mr A. R. Bunny, 17s 2d, was passed for payment. The question of the investment of the,.£3so, the purchase money of Greytown Town Belt, was disoussed, Mr Muir contended that real estate should be purchased with the money. Mr Feist moved and Mr Gapper seconded, That tenders be invited.for the investment of the money on real estate.
• Tenders were opened for leasing paddocks in Queen-street, No, 1, opposite the school, P. Treacy, £5 ss, accepted j declined, C. Collier, £5; Mawhinay, £3. No, 2, next the school, J. Russell, £3 10s, accepted; No 3, on;Russeil.Streßt, P. Treace,j,£3 3s, accepted. ' A; discussion took place as to the compensation clauses of leases, and the committee was instructed to take the .matter into consideration and report!
