A scene of-much ■coufusian* followed, all the members present (about 250) rising' in'tlieii-plutes, a : nd some of them rui°" ning to take hold of Mr Winks, who "was ;.ev.it!mtly laboring' .under" great excitement, Dr Kem'shead aud Major-' General Bray, . 0.8., attempted to restore/order, but this was not done without some difficulty: and the assistance of the sergant-at.-'arms.,. The Speaker then-called on Mr Barry, who said he had been assaulted Withoutany provocation. Mr Winks, who had interrupted by calling him " liar and scoundrel" said the .only explanation 'he had' to riiake was that Mr Barry,' in* an .article in • a local newspaper, said he-was druuk when address-. ing the house lagt and ■ "Hear, --hear.") .-Hehal also' charged him' with- being a' 'habitus of Cogers Hall—(That's no "disgrace")--and when he saw;him that night he lost his temper. The Speaker Baid that the explanation was.not.satiafaetory, and on the motion of Mr Judd (the prime minister) he was expelledthe house. -
