CARTERTON TOWN BOARD.
•The usual monthly meeting of: the shove Board was held on Monday afternoon in the, poancil .Chambers,; Present—Messrs Jtl.'frairbrother (Chairman), A. Campbell, H. Callister, W, Parker, and W. Vickerstaff. The minutes of "last meeting wore read and confirmed. The Treasurer repotted a credit balance ot 194 7s 7d at Bank of Now Zealand, . ' Mr Loasby was granted permis&jn to erect a verandah in front of his tL* shop, The poundkeeper drew the attention of the Board to the new Impounding Act which is to come in force on Jan. Ist, 1885, The Board decided after discussion to adopt the new Act as it stands. A discussion took place relative to letting the old Town Hall to the Salvation Army, and it was resolved that the Army be allowed to use ihe hall for holding their meetings at the usual rates. Accounts for road work done were passed for payment amounting to £l3. The meeting then terminated,.
