A. very good all-round show was held ' in the Town Hall, Greytown, yesterday. Messrs "H. H. Jackson, Shaw, and Spearink officiated as judges of pot plants and cut flowers, and Messrs A. Matthews und Parsons decided the merits of the vegetable.;and, fruit ■ exhibits, needle and fancy work'..being '.. relegated- to •Mesdames ' Wood'ahf Tully- Among the exhibits ot special interest we noticed Mr J. Barnard's obseivatory bee-hive, some admirable oil paintings by Mr A. Chisholm, a very clever pencil-drawing by Mr Leigh Hunt, arid a number of curios exhibited by Mrs Maxton, including' a painting on velvet executed some fifty years ago. Photographs of New Zealand scenery were exhibited by Mr A. L. Webster, the local agont for Messrs Burton Bros, Mr Porritt exhibited a very ingenious fountain, and the fernery, one ot the leading attractions, was under his care. A dance in the evening wound up the Show, the private brass band providing suitable music.
