This morning the second jury in Meikles case (perjury) intimated their inability to come to a decision and were accordingly discharged, The prosecution intimated its intention of of consulting the Attorney-General in regard to the case, and also mentioned there would probably be an application made to hear the case in Dunedinin February next. This will probably be done •if practicable; if not, it is likely to be heard here next session. Garries case, which hangs upon the other, he being an important witness, is also deferred.
