From the Manaivatu Road Board asking this Board to co-oporate with them in getting some arrangement in re capitalising deferred lands payments, whereby the Boards suffered a loss. Front the Waste Lands Board re amended adjustment of deferred thirds, as suggested by the Board,
Nine applications were received for the situation of overseer, Tho clerk explained sundry matters in connection with advertising tli.e special rate under Roads and Bridges Act, which v/as approved, Resolved—That the special rate b,e |d in the X,
That the Manawatu Board be informed that this Board will co-operate with them, and also that Mr McCardle in his place at the Waste Lands Board will give the matter his attention.
That Mr McMillan be appointed working overseer, and that lie commence duty as near the new year as possible; also that a set of tools be obtained for his use,
That the Masterton Road Board bo written to, asking for an immediate settlement of accounts, with list of unpaid rates for 1882-83.
That the Works Committee accept tenders at onoe to put a platform bridge over tho creek on the Mungararama road near Rioux's,
That to simplify matters the follow-' ing names be given to roads in the districtthe present formed road from the main road to the* river be called the Tiiaumea road ; that tl>e road along the Mangararama Valley be called % Mangararama road; that one froni tlje njaij) r.oad past the endowment to the Tiraumea be called the Toretia • Puketoi road; that the road into the Mangaone district along the Pahiatua Native Reserve be called the Makakahi jroad, and also that Maori names be adhered to.
That this Board have an office, and tjie Clerk obtain all the information possible in re sites and their price, to bo laid before a Reefing' of; the Works ComniitteD on Saturday who have power to accept the. rite and call for tenders for a building 16 x 12 in the clear,.
