TT is hereby notified that the under-i mentioned sections are open fo'r lease for a term of thirty years, with perpetual right of renewal. VVritten tenders (in sealed covers) are invited, in .accordance with (' The Land Act-1877 Amendment Aot, 1882. The.price tendered must be stated in writing as well as in figures, accompanied by a statutory declaration, together with six months' rent at the rate tendered, and a fee of i'l 10s for lease and registration, to be lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, at the Crown Lands office, Wellington, not-later than 4 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, the lOili December, 1884 The tenders will be opened at the meeting of the Land Board on Thursday, the 11th December (the following day,) at 10 o'clock a.m„ when the highest tenderer, if the tender shall equal or exceed ihe upset auuual reutal per acre fixed by tho Board/ will be declared the lessee. The tenderers must appear.at the .Land Board, eitfiir in"person or by an agent authorized in writini;, on the day on which the tenders are opened. Plans and schedules of the sections, and copies of. the regulations under which leases.will be sold,,and issued, also forias of tendler. and declaration respectively, can be; obtained, at,, the District Land Office, Wellington; at any of the other Land Offices in the colony; and may also be seen at the Railway: stations and Post Offices iu the Welltugtan Provincial District. The sections comprised in the Schedule are situated -at Pahiatua, iu the Mangaone Block, in tbe Kopuaranga District, about Dreyers' Rock, near Dreyer town, and front uoon or are adjacent a to the main road connecting Masterton and Woodville, Branch roads have been formed through the sections at Dreyer's Rock, Central Mangaone, Hawea, and Pahiatua, at distances respective!? from Masterton of about fourteen miles, thirtyone miles, thirty-five miles and forty miles, 'l'he Mangahao sections are within fourteen tyiles of the Town of Woodville, The Main Trunk Railway from Wellington to Napier is now being constructed to.a.point about seventeen miles north of M;iß>erton. Sites for railway stations'have been selected at several points. The whole' of the sections are covered with, forest, the principal trees being tawa, rimu, hinau, rata, kahikatea, with totai'a in places ; ..ihe undergrowth is, as a rule, heavy; the general character of the soil is good, and in'some places is of first-class quality, the .formatioh being limestone, oliw, mnirlreandatone, &c. Th<v country is generally hilly and undulating, biij there are large flats as well as broken grounds within the area j it is well watered, and, as the climate is also favorable the land should, when cleared and brought into cultivation, provo well adapted for pastoral, and to some extent, agricultural purposes' SCHEDULE.
