MASTERTON TOWN LANDS TRUST.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Trustees was held in. the. Council Chambers on Friday night. Present Mr R, Ifare (Chairman), and Messrs Miiir dapper and Bish. The minntes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

An account from Smith and Hogg for advertising, £\ h b'd, and valuation fee, £2, for two valuations, E, tfrigley, were passed for payment. Th'eJfiriariciarreport was handed.in by the Treasurer and read as' follows: —To balance, £34 lCs sd; rent receipts." 1910s ; total, £44 5s sd; by rates, £8 13s 4d j Park grant, £1210s; balance, £23 2s;ldj total, £44 5s sd. The Secretary reported that only temporary arrangements were made for the renting of Trust paddocks in Queen-st., and that tenders would be invited as soon as the other sections were fenced, for the whole of them, Mr Gapper drew" attention to the ; bf oom on the acres next the school, and the Secretary was instructed to obtain information as to the cost of grubbing up the same with power to get the work done.

The Chairman said it was now their duty to appoint a Trustee in place of MrMcCardle.

Mr Gapper moved and Mr Bish seconded, that Mr Edwin feist be appointed. Carried. An application ' was made by.the lessee to sub-let the half-acre leased by Mr James Ewington from the Trust, to Yee Kee, the Chinaman,

Mr Gapper moved that permission be granted, all rents to be paid up to date, Carried,

Mr Bisk wrote tendering his resignation as Trustee, as he was leaving the district, The Chairman moved that Mr Bish's resignation be accepted, and a cordial vole of thanks accorded him for his past services on the Trust, Mr Gapper seconded the motion, and expressed his regret at the resignation of Mr Bisk Carried.

Mr Bisk expressed his thanks to the Trustees for the resolution.

The question of who to appoint to fill the vacancy was discussed, aud a subcommittee was appointed to report at the next meeting. The appointment in,each case only holds good until the next election in April, Tho Chairman said the act gare them a discretionary power in the matter of filling vacancies, but it was only necsssary to use that when a vacancy occurred close on to the election time. Mr Gapper reported re the fencing of sections next the Catholio Church. He had seen M r Bremner who would not take upon himself to put in tho pegs until lie kad seen Mr Llewellyn Smith, but this would only be a day or two's delay. The Secretary reported that the Catholic School Committee was prepared to lease the laud as soon as it was fenced, at a reasonable rental for the school children. This concluded the business,
