WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held at the Club Hotel, last evening, Jn the absence of the President Mr Payton was voted to the chair.
Just as the proceedings commenced the gathering was dispersed by the sound of the fire bell, and on it reassembling, but few members were present. It was resolved—That under these circumstances the consideration of the report and the election'of officers should be postponed till another evening. A letter was read from the chairman of the ground committee of tlie cricket club, asking the society to assist them in the erection of a neat sawn fence round the Park oval, as such a fence would be an advantage to the society in holding the annual gathering. On the motion of Mr Heron it was resolved that provided the ground committee of the society deemed the fence suitable for their meetings, a snm of five pounds be granted.
The following new members wereproposed and elected, viz,, Messrs Donald McKenzie, Jas Muir, John Morrison, John Cameron, Thomas McLennan, and Evan McKenzie,
The annual report was read by the Secretary, The meeting then adjourned
