CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor,)
Sir,—l notice in youv report of the meeting of the Library Committee that an application was made by Mr R. Brown on behalf of the Masterton Chess Club asking the Committee for the use of the committee room for 2 nights in the week. Mr Lowes moved a resolution that the room should be open to ratepayers and the public in general every night when not other wise engaged. Therefore, sir, I think J am but just in expressing the wish that ratepayers and the public in general should have free access to 1 the committee room on every night during the woek when not occupied, instead of being limited to the two fixed nights, which are so very unsuitable for a great many of the inhabitants, I urn, otc, Resident,
