MIMIC PARLIAMENT.

From the Woodville Examiner.

A meeting of the Debating Club was to have been held last evening, but owing to the wet weather only a few members put in an appearance. It was accordinly decided to draw tip a few rules and suggestions for adoption by a general meeting of members. These were as follows : That the Woodville Debating Club be reorganised under the name of the Woodville Mimic Parliament.

That it consist of a Governor, who shall also perform the duties of Speaker and an unlimited number of members, to be elected by ballot. That the Governor beelectedauuually by a majority of mombei's,

That the Parliament be controlled by a Ministry of five members holding the following portfolios : Premier, Lands and Immigrations, Colonial Secretary and Education, Agriculfcuraland Native Affairs Treasurer and Commissioner of Customs. ; That the Ministry hold office only so long as they retain the confidence of House, .'/'■■ That in the event of a "no-confidence" motion being carried, tho mover 1 • shall accept the office of Premier, and shall form a Ministry and formulate a policy forthwith. That the rules to be observed be the standing orders of the Houae of Representatives, except the speakers be limited to fifteen minutes, That tho President of the Debating Club (the Rov Mr Worboys) be the first Governor, and that he call on Mr Hanken to form a Ministry, and to bring down his policy on Monday night week. The meeting then adjourned.
