Finlaysons' house was destroyed by fire on Satcrday last, It was insured in the Colonial for £3OO. Circumstances are suspicious and Finlayson has been arrested, Donedin, Monday. The residence of W. Walters, at Maori Hill was burnt down last night His loss is £3OO as the building was uninsured. A four-roomed bouse at Eden occupied by Mr Clough was burned yesterday. It was insured for £250 in the National. ~ : Wellington, Monday. The first copies of a newspaper published in London, entitled " The AngloNew Zealander," were received by the Brindisi mail to-day, Christchurch, Monday. An accident occurred to the Akaroa coach on Saturday night last, and George Bishop, schoolmaster, received injuries from which he died. Full particulars are not asjyefc known. Some goods in the window of Bonnington's chemist took fire on Saturday night, and a serious conflagration was narrowly averted. ,
