CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor.
Sir,—How long are the ratepayers of the County to pay cartage of passengers to and fro across the Waipoua, when a good substantial foot-bridge could be placed across in two days by any thoroughly practical engineer entirely by his own hands at a total cost of not more than ten or twelve pounds for material and everything 1 Can you also inform mo who is responsible for the gross waste..ot public money, and bungling re the attempt to construct a foot-bridge there last week I Sir, I think we have much more need to have our rates spent in filling up holes and improving the roads, or the ford across the Waipoua instead of being frittered away in nonsensical truss expenses. I am, Ac, Robert Donald.
