CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the' above Board was: held on Saturday last, Present— Messrs Mnckay (chairman), Langdoti, Meredith, Harvey, and Bellis. ■'. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported.a balance available for'future expenditure, of £668, and a bank balance of £779.17s 10d.f Tho Overseer's report was read -and considered, and the following letters were read :
From the Chairman of tho Taueru Road Board asking for information to enable the two Boards to comply with" Clause 5 of the Road Boards Act 1882.
From Mr John Groves re repairs to road at Adams' Peak.
From Mr.Hamlyßide asking for leave of absence.
From Public Works Officer re Uriti, Mungapakeha, and Tinui Valley lines of road,

From Mr. Hawkins, stating -that an error had been made in applying for the whole of his, rates as only about 3,000 acres of his lend was in that district, :.-.-. •• ''■■'.•

■ Mr Beetbam attended in reference to getting a portion of. the road, to Anniedale formed on the' surveyed line riear the Manawa station to avoid., passing through the Manawn'paddocks.". MivjOlarke also .attended and re-" quested toliare tho road from Manawa creek to the' station repaired, as at present it was impassable for wheel traffioj'and pointed out that the traffic during this winter had seriously injured the paddocks through the drays deverging from the road to avoid the 'soft 'places.'' That Mr Hawkins be informed that the whole of his property was in this district when the rates were struck. That the Alfredton Board be informed that this Board will collect the rates due for the current year, but are prepared to enter into agreement in accordance with clause 5 of the Road Bomd Act, 1882. That with respect to Mr Clark'srequest this Board is prepared to spend. £8 on the road provided thatjfl|e public can have the use of it wheißrepaired.
That Mr Groves be requested to expend the .£5 on Adams' Peakroad ; to the best advantage. That Mr Jepson's request be granted.That a.i application be made to the County Council for tracings of Taueru : and Alfredton road districts.
That the Commissioner of Property'; Tax be informed that no rates have' been received on Native lands. for'"' 18824, and no nils have been made. . ■ The clerk was instructed to give the Hall Trustees notice of the Board's intention to remove to the new office, and also to purchase some articles of furniture for the new office. ■
The following accounts were passed.for payment :-Wages, bills, andL salaries, £42 10s sd; Wills and' Magnusson, 10s; Tinui store, £3 4s;. insurance, £1 2s 6d. The next meeting was fixed for, 20th' September.
