CORRESPONDENCE.

BENTLEY Y. THE CORPORATION. To the Editor. Sir,—l am not surprised at, although T regret, the decision of the District Court Judge in my case against the Masterton Corporation, His Honor Judge Davy is human, and " to err is human." Condemned by Judge, Mayor, and Corporation, I am still in dismay, for I can turn cheerfully, and confidently to a better, and truly a stronger tribunal—my conscience, and that love of justice which animates my fellow settlers—the still small voice acquits me. I know that many of my fellow burgesses sympathise with me because of the great wrong I have suffered, and 1 am satisfied that those who know me best and know my history and antecedents during the long years I have spent since I landed here with the earliest pioneers of the district, will regard this tardy judgment as but another illustration of the strong prevailing ov#r the weak. I am,iSic., H, Bentley.
