Melbourne, July 22. Sailed, this , -afternoon Union Steamship Waihora, for the Bluff. London, July 21, The Homeward mails, via Suez and Brindisi, per steamship Potosi, from Melbourne June 12, were delivered here to-day. A popular demonstration in support of the Franchise Reform movement was held in.Hyde Park to-day, and was attended by an enormous crowd of people, the number being estimated at one hundred thousand. On resumption of Englishmen's first innings Ulyett, not out, of yesfcerday,-and Steel took their places at the wickets. Both batsmen played steadily, and score ran up rapidly, Steel making some grand hits, When Ulyett had added 14 to his soore (making it 32) he was bowled, and Lord Harris joined Steel. The partnership, however, was of short duration, as his lordship had only made four when he was bowled, Barlow was next man in, and he and Steel soon became set at the wickets, the Australian bowling being severely punished, and the score continued to advance, both bats being in splendid form, The latest advices from Lords' Ground give the score as follows : Englishmen, first innings, 5 wickets down for 231 runs.
