LOW LIFE IN SYDNEY.
Several boys aad girls were very recently apprehended at Sydney for the theft of some bags. In Court one of the lads—thb eldest of whom was not over 115 and the youngest 11 Tears of age—told his tale, and it was reported thus by tho Sydney Morning Herald" Me and this 'ere cove (a child of 13) was at tho thcayter, when as we come out we mot another eove as tells us that the other coye was round with some girls. at Merloney's, We goes round an'" we climbs up a wall, and creeps up into Merloney's through a place where a board was broke, There was five of ua coves and three girls they was 'bout the same'age is we was. The girls told us where the bags was and how we could get 'em. We slept there all night, boys and girls. Next morning; us and the girls went round and took the bags; Three of us coves sold 'em—two lots for 5s each,' and one lot for 6s Gd. \?o give the girls sqme of the money, We spent ours in 'bacca, cakes, cigarettes, and matohes. Ono of the girls got two months for shaking £2. The girls tliey split on us, and that's how tho D.'s (dfteetives) got us." The lads had deserted their homes, and Jiad associated with thieves, and live in sheds and cellars,
